String Hoppers Kottu

String Hoppers or 'Idiappam' is a special traditional Sri lanakan dish made simply from white or red rice flour. The flour dough is squeezed in to a press to form thin rice noodles and pressed onto a flat mesh - like disk to be Steamed. This particular cooking style is called bamboo cooking. In srilanka this is usually served for breakfast or dinner with various curries and Coconut sambol, or as a kottu .String Hoppers can be a gluten free meal option 😋 👌.
